Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

Due to potentially incorrect installation of some of the stop lamp switches at the point of assembly, the stop lamp switch on some of the affected vehicles may malfunction over time and cause the stop lamps to remain illuminated when the brakes are not being applied. This condition could also negate the brake-shift interlock function.

The hazard

Movement of the gear selector out of ‘Park’ position, or starting of the engine, without depressing the brake pedal could pose an accident hazard.

The remedy

Owners of vehicles within the affected VIN range will be advised to contact their Nissan Dealer to arrange for adjustment of the stop lamp switch and replacement of the stop lamp relay. The rectification will be at no cost to owners.
