Privacy Policy

Information we collect

vinHQ does not require accounts, and we do not collect personal information. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying details.

When you use the VIN lookup tool, your VIN is sent to our server for matching against public recall data. VINs are not personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 — they identify a vehicle, not a person. We do not permanently store VINs you submit.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising targeting ourselves.

This site displays ads from third-party ad networks (e.g., Google AdSense, Ezoic, Mediavine). These networks may set their own cookies and use their own tracking technologies, subject to their own privacy policies. You can opt out of personalised advertising in your browser settings or through each network's opt-out pages.

Data sources

Recall data is sourced from vehiclerecalls.gov.au under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

Disclaimer

This site is not affiliated with the Australian Government. Recall information is provided for general informational purposes only. Always contact the vehicle manufacturer directly to confirm recall status and arrange repairs.
