The defect

The ground terminal of the windscreen wiper motor may have been inadvertently bent during the assembly of the windscreen wiper motor. This may cause a loss of the electrical ground connection, which could result in the windscreen wiper motor not functioning.

The hazard

In a worst case scenario, the windscreen wipers will not work and visibility may be reduced.

The remedy

Mazda Australia will contact all affected owners by mail. Owners should contact their preferred Mazda Dealer to arrange an appointment to have an additional ground harness installed on their vehicle's windscreen wiper motor.
