The defect
Due to a software programming fault, the engine may not restart after entering idle stop mode until the vehicle is restarted using the Start/Stop button.

The hazard
If the vehicle does not restart in idle stop mode, there is an increased risk of an accident and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.
The remedy
Mazda Australia will contact all affected owners to arrange a time to book their vehicle in for repair. Owners will be advised to present their vehicle to their preferred Mazda dealer for the reprogramming of the Powertrain Control Module, free of charge.Consumers who require further information should contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411.
