The defect

A manufacturing defect in the vehicle’s air system may experience a delay in charging the front brake circuit. This could result in a loss of braking performance of the front brakes. Rear axle and trailer braking are not impacted by this issue.

The hazard

Vehicles are not compliant with Australian Design Rule 35/06 - Commercial Vehicle Brake Systems, and must be rectified to ensure a fully functional and safe braking system.Note: A warning lamp and buzzer will activate in case of low brake pressure.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should immediately contact their preferred Kenworth dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
