The defect

Due to manufacturing defect, there is a possibility that the steer axle tie rod castle nut cotter pin is missing, allowing the steering arm to detach. This could lead to a loss of steering response and a lack of direction control.

A loss of steering control could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Owners are asked to contact an Authorised Daimler Commercial Vehicle Dealership who will undertake the repair work, free of charge.
