The defect
Due to a manufacturing issue, the camshaft carrier oil gallery may not have been drilled to specification. This could cause an external oil leak or oil to be discharged into the engine air intake system. An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.

The hazard
A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders.
The remedy
Owners of affected vehicles can contact their authorised Land Rover Dealer to have the cam carrier inspected and where an incorrectly machined cam carrier is found replace it with a correctly machined component, free of charge.
