The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear centre seat belt anchor buckle may not meet specifications. As a result, the seat belt may not properly latch or operate as intended.

The hazard

In the event of an accident or hard braking, if the seat belt does not properly latch or operate as intended, it will increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in writing, requesting immediately to schedule an appointment to have the rear centre seat belt buckle and buckle retaining bolt replaced, free of charge.
