The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the exhaust bracket fixing nuts may not have been tightened to specifications and could become loose or detach over time. This may cause hot exhaust gas to leak into the engine bay and could result in a vehicle fire.

The hazard

A vehicle fire may increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.

The remedy

Owners will be notified and instructed to take their vehicle to an approved Jaguar Land Rover repairer to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.
