The defect

Due to a software issue, the rear turning indicators, brakes and hazard lights may not operate as intended. The driver will receive warning signals in the instrument cluster.

The hazard

If the rear lighting system of the vehicle is not operating as intended, other road users would be unable to identify if the vehicle is turning, braking or reversing. This could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy
