The defect

Due to a software issue some functions of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) multimedia system may not deactivate when the vehicle starts moving. This can result in driver distraction potentially drawing their attention away from the road.

The hazard

If the driver is distracted while the vehicle is in motion this will increase the risk of an accident possibly causing serious injury or death.

The remedy
