The defect
Due to a manufacturing defect with the cable duct of the starter-alternator wiring harness it may become loose and damaged over time. If this occurs it could result in a short circuit which could lead to a vehicle fire.
The hazard
A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders.
