The defect
The jack provided with the vehicle does not comply with the mandatory standard for vehicle jacks 'Trade Practices Act 1974 Consumer Protection Notice No. 1 of 2010 Consumer Product Safety Standard for Vehicle Jacks'. The jack base plate dimensions does not meet the requirements of the standard.

The hazard
If the base plate is not the correct size the jack could become unstable and this may result in the vehicle collapsing. This may cause severe injury or death if the vehicle collapses on a user.
The remedy
Owners are asked to contact their most convenient Mercedes-Benz retailer for a free of charge check and replacement if required.
