The defect

Due to incorrect manufacture, in the event of an accident one of the two locking mechanisms in the vehicle's seat belts may not lock the seat belt as designed.

The hazard

If one of the locking mechanisms in the seatbelt does not function, the wearer may not be properly restrained, increasing the risk of injury or death to the vehicle occupants.

The remedy
