The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the hydraulic jack in the brush chipper may extend without input from the operator. If this occurs while the vehicle is being towed, it could result in a loss of vehicle control whilst driving.

A loss of vehicle control may increase the risk of an accident and serious injury or death to the vehicle occupants, other road users and damage to property.

The remedy

Owners of affected brush chipper can contact their preferred authorised Vermeer dealer immediately to have the work carried out, free of charge.Should a Vermeer dealer have to travel to a customer’s location, Vermeer will provide reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with its policies and standard practices.
