The defect

Due to assembly error, the VIN plate fitted has been affixed on a body panel of the trailer rather than the frame. Additionally, the mechanical coupling installed may not have the correct identifying markings and description tag. The VIN etching on the trailer may also not be in an accessible location.

The hazard

There is no safety hazard associated with this recall and the defect will not affect the performance of the vehicle.Vehicles are not compliant with Australian Design Rules (ADR) 61/03 - Vehicle Marking.

The remedy

Owners of affected trailers can contact their preferred authorised Vermeer dealer immediately to have the work carried out, free of charge.If the Vermeer dealer travels to the unit to install the kit, costs may be incurred by the owner.
