The defect

Due to a software issue, the air dryer may send an insufficient frequency to the compressed air system allowing water ingress within the air tanks and circuits. As a result, in cold temperatures the condensation in the brake airlines could freeze leading to reduced or loss in braking performance and parking brake operation. In addition, the extra load on the remaining brakes could cause them to overheat leading to a vehicle fire.
