Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the driveshaft universal joint play may exceed the manufacturer's tolerance. If the vehicle continues to operate under these conditions, grease may leak and debris may intrude into the universal joint bearing cups causing the joint to break. This could result in the vehicle becoming suddenly inoperable.

The hazard

If the vehicle becomes inoperable, it can increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised Volvo Group Australia dealer to have the work carried out free of charge.
