The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) may not operate as intended and could remain partially engaged whilst driving. If this occurs, it could overheat leading to a vehicle fire.Note: If this occurs, EPB warning lights (orange) alert will illuminate on the instrument cluster.

The hazard

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, and bystanders, and/or damage to property.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Daimler Truck asking them to book an appointment with their authorised dealer to have the rectification carried out, free of charge.
