The defect

Due to a manufacturing issue, the wiring harness between the door pressure sensor and the airbag control unit has an incorrect connector pin allocation.

The hazard

An incorrectly assigned sensor can delay the side airbag trigger in crash situations. A delayed trigger of the side airbag can increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Porsche and are asked to arrange with their nearest authorised Official Porsche Centre to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.Owners can find their nearest Porsche dealer at https://www.porsche.com/australia/dealersearch/
