The defect

Due to a software issue within the Engine Management Control (EMC) unit, the Hydraulic Brake Compensation (HBC) system may not operate as intended. This could lead to reduced braking performance and a loss of braking assistance.

A reduction in braking performance and/or a loss of safety systems could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised Peugeot Dealership to arrange a suitable time to have their vehicle inspected and the necessary repair work performed, free of charge.
