The defect

The sealing of the firewall panel between the engine and the passenger compartments may reduce over time, allowing moisture to enter potentially causing corrosion in the electrical component or a short circuit. As a result, Pre-Safe system function may not get activated as intended.

In the event of an accident, if the Pre-Safe system function does not get activated as intended, it will increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
