The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the seat belt monitoring system may not indicate the seat belt status of the occupants as intended. As a result, there may not be a warning when the passengers do not fasten their seat belts.

The hazard

In the event of a collision, if the occupants are not wearing their seat belt, there will be an increased risk of injury or death.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Audi Australia Pty Ltd and are asked to arrange with their nearest authorised Audi dealership to have the work carried out free of charge.
