The defect

Due to a software issue in the Body Control Module (BCM), the Headlamp and the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) may remain illuminated simultaneously for 60 seconds when using the Remote Connect Feature. The Remote Connect Feature is only available in the Lexus Connected Services smart phone application to help locate the vehicle by illuminating the headlamps.Note: This condition will revert to normal operation within 60 seconds.

The hazard

For the 60 seconds when both Headlamp and DRL are simultaneously illuminated, this condition does not comply with Australian Design Rule ADR13 - Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices.

The remedy

Lexus will contact affected owners in writing, requesting that owners make an appointment at their preferred Lexus dealer who will update the BCM software program, free of charge.To find a local dealer, visit https://www.lexus.com.au/contact/find-a-dealer
