The defect

Due to a software issue, if the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system is turned off, it may not default to the ON setting the next time the vehicle is started. This may result in a loss of vehicle control.Warning lights will illuminate, indicating to the driver that the VSC is not activated.

The hazard

A loss of vehicle control will increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Lexus Australia will contact affected owners in writing, requesting that owners make an appointment attheir preferred Lexus dealer to update the software program, free of charge.
