The defect

The clearance between the transmission/alternator wiring harness and the exhaust system may not be sufficient; this may result in damage to the wiring harness. As a result it may not be possible to select the transmission “park” position. Additionally the transmission may shift into “neutral” whilst driving.

The hazard

If the transmission fails it may result in a hazard to the vehicle occupants and other road users.
