The defect

The bonding for the lower area of the windshield may not comply with the specifications. In the event of an accident, the windshield could separate from the body in the affected area.

The hazard

A front passenger airbag triggered in an accident may not be supported by the windshield as intended. As a consequence, the protective effect of the front passenger airbag may be impaired, which could increase the risk of injury for the front passenger.

The remedy

Consumers should contact their nearest Mercedes-Benz retailer for a free of charge check and repair, if required.
