The defect

The emergency locking retractor in the front passenger safety belt assembly may not function correctly.

The hazard

Heavy braking prior to a crash where the passenger airbag deploys may result in the front passenger seat occupants not be restrained as intended by the seatbelt and sustaining more severe injuries.

The remedy

Affected owners will be contacted by direct mail. Owners should contact their preferred Jaguar Land Rover dealer to arrange an appointment and replacement of the left hand front seat belt assembly.
