Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

The routing of the engine harness may not provide sufficient clearance, and as a result, the wires could contact the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) casing and cause an electrical short.

The hazard

Engine harness contact with the EGR casting can cause the wires within the engine harness protective sleeve to wear through, exposing the wires and potentially causing a short to the metal EGR valve. This can cause a range of vehicle failure modes, and in the worst case it is possible the engine may cut-out with minimal warning to the driver and could potentially cause a crash.

The remedy

Owners will be notified to take their vehicle to a Land Rover dealer who will fit the new wiring harness bracket to the engine assembly.
