The defect

The bracket fixing the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe to the engine may break if the engine is frequently run at high speeds. If the vehicle is continued to be used without repairing, the EGR pipe could then crack and cause an exhaust gas leak.

In the worst case scenario, the intake hose may melt partially, resulting in engine power loss.

The remedy
