The defect

Under certain conditions an internal short circuit in the cooling fan module can lead to a failure and combustion of the external cable insulation. Secondary short circuits can then be created leading to further fire propagation.

The remedy

Owners will be notified and instructed to take their vehicles to a Land Rover authorised repairer to have the electric cooling fan assembly replaced with a current production level fan assembly. There will be no charge to owners for this repair.
