The defect

The manufacturing process to attach the wiper arm to the spindle was insufficiently controlled such that the specified torque was imparted on the fixing.

The hazard

Through torque relaxation, the securing nut could become loose, allowing the wiper arms to lose synchronisation, clash and potentially detach from their spindles.

The remedy

Contact your authorised Jaguar dealership to have the wiper arm inspected and if necessery re-torqued.
