The defect

The seat occupancy detectors may intermittently be unable to reliably detect that the seat is occupied, and the following components will not be activated when required:E 60: front passenger front and side airbags, front passenger belt tensioner.

The hazard

Equipment failure of front passenger airbag, front passenger side airbag, front passenger belt tensioner and driver's belt tensioner.

The remedy

Contact their preferred authorised BMW dealer as soon as possible to have the required inspection carried out. If they have any questions contact BMW Group Australia on 1800 813 299.
