The defect

The fuel pump impeller may not meet manufacturing specifications, as a result it may become deformed. This may cause the fuel pump to stop working and may lead to the vehicle stalling.

The hazard

A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of an accident and injury to a vehicle occupant or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.
