The defect

The AEB software for vehicles without a tachograph has not been downgraded.

The hazard

This can lead to the vehicle braking in such a way that the trailer becomes difficult to handle, posing an accident risk to road users.

The remedy

Scania Australia will contact all customers by direct mail. Customers should contact their nearest Scania branch or dealer and book the vehicle/s in for a software update, which will resolve the issue.
