The defect

The satellite sensor for the side curtain airbag in the B-Pillar may not have been installed correctly in some Nissan B17 Pulsar, C12 Pulsar and N17 Almera vehicles. In extremely rare cases, the curtain air bag may deploy incorrectly.

The hazard

If the defect occurs, the airbag may not adequately protect occupants in the event of a collision.

The remedy

A letter will be sent to affected owners. Customers may contact a local Nissan dealer to arrange for inspection and, where necessary, rectification of the front passenger airbag inflator.
