The defect

The internal grip assist handle located on the A-Pillar was not manufactured to the correct durability specification and may detach or break during use.

Should the grip assist handle detach or break this may pose a risk of injury to vehicle users.

The remedy

Nissan Motor Co Australia will contact owners of affected vehicles requesting that the owners contact a Nissan dealer to book an appointment to carry out the free repair, which involves fitting a reinforcement panel to prevent the A-pillar cracking.For further information, consumers should contact the Nissan Customer Service Centre on 1800 035 035 or contact your nearest Nissan dealer via https://www.nissan.com.au/contact-us
