The defect

Due to an incorrect setting in the software of the Body Control Module (BCM) in affected vehicles, the system may not trigger a warning (double speed flashing) in the case of an indicator lamp failure.

The hazard

If the system does not trigger a warning, the driver will not be notified of an indicator failure. This may pose an accident risk for the vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Nissan will be sending letters to owners of affected vehicles, advising customers to contact their nearest Nissan Dealer to arrange a free repair.
