The defect

It is possible that the park brake lever lock nut has not been correctly tensioned. This may result in damage to the park brake cable.

The hazard

If the defect occurs this may result in the park brake not holding the the vehicle securely. This may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.

The remedy

A letter will be sent to affected owners. The park brake lever lock will be re-tensioned as required and the cable will be inspected for damage and replaced as necessary. These repairs will be carried out free of charge.
