The defect

Due to deviations in the manufacturing process, the internal overflow pipe in some fuel tanks may not be completely enclosed by plastic. This may lead to a fuel leak.

The hazard

If the defect occurs, fuel may leak from the motorcycle, exposing consumers to hazardous fumes and posing a potential fire hazard.

The remedy

The vehicle should not be ridden until checked. Owners should contact an authorised KTM dealer to make a booking for the vehicle to be checked as per KTM recommended procedure. Owners will be sent a letter informing them of the Safety Recall for the affected vehicles.
