The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel tank cap seal may crack. If this occurs, fuel may leak and in the presence of an external ignition source could result in a vehicle fire.

The hazard

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of serious injury or death to riders, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property.

The remedy

Owners should immediately contact their authorised KTM dealer to make an appointment and have the recall performed, free of charge. KTM will contact owners of affected vehicles and request a dealer booking is made as priority.
