The defect

Due to an incorrect heat treatment process, the inner tubes for the front forks may crack.

The hazard

The inner fork tube may crack. This may adversely affect the forks' function and cause the bike / rider to crash, resulting in serious injury.

The remedy

Cease using the affected vehicles and arrange for the faulty components to be replaced by calling any authorised KTM dealer. When calling please quote the VIN number, which can be located on the right hand side of the steering head tube. For information, contact KTM Australia Customer Service on 08 93516666.
