The defect

Due to an incorrect assembly procedure at the factory, the driveshaft bearings may overheat and deteriorate, causing them to fail.

The hazard

If left unrepaired, the bearing surfaces may 'break up' and may cause the shaft to lock up whilst riding. This may pose an accident hazard to the rider and/or other road users.

The remedy

Owners should contact their nearest Honda Dealer and arrange to have their machine inspected and repaired, as necessary.
