The defect

The label on the jack supplied with the vehicle identifies a ‘safe working load’, which is not permitted by the mandatory standard for jacks if the jack is intended for use with a specific vehicle.

The hazard

The mandatory standard, AS/NZS2693-2007, does not permit the identification of a safe working load on jacks supplied for use with a specific vehicle, as the jack may be used on a vehicle for which it was not intended and cause a hazard.

The remedy

Holden will write to all affected customers to notify them of the required action.
