The defect

Due to a manufacturing issue, the rear seat back frames were manufactured with thicker ISOFIX wire which may exceed the Australian Design Rule 34 (ADR 34) requirement.

The hazard

If the ISOFIX child restraint system is incorrectly secured in the vehicle, it could pose a risk of injury or death to the child in the event of an accident.The vehicle is not compliant with ADR 34.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by General Motors Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd and requested to contact their local dealer to have the rear seat inspected and repaired, free of charge.
