The defect

The spare wheel carrier assembly installation is incomplete, whereby two welds connecting the spare wheel carrier support beam to the chassis rail may not have been included in the original installation.

The hazard

Without the welded attachment of the spare wheel carrier support beam to the chassis rail, cracking may occur leading to the eventual failure of a vertical mounting plate in the spare wheel carrier frame assembly.

The remedy

All owners of affected vehicles will be contacted individually by letter.Owners are advised to contact their authorised Hino Dealer for inspection and rectification, if necessary.
