The defect

The fuel tank ventilation system may be defective and cause pressure to build in the tank, resulting in fuel potentially spraying out of the tank when the fuel cap is opened.

The hazard

If fuel sprays from the tank, this poses a fire and injury risk to the user and their surroundings.

The remedy

Consumers will be sent a letter requesting them to contact their closest Ducati Dealer or Service Agent as soon as possible to make an appointment for an update of the motorcycle's fuel tank ventilation system, and to receive a sticker with warning/instructions on correctly opening the fuel cap for their owner's manual.Consumers who are unsure whether they are affected can also use the Ducati VIN look-up at https://www.ducati.com/ww/en/service-maintenance/recall-campaignFor further information, consumers can contact an authorised Ducati Dealer or email info@ducati.com.au
