Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

The electric fuel pump may fail due to a manufacturing defect.

The hazard

An internal coating in the fuel pump housing may break down, which may lead to an increase in internal friction in the fuel pump. Consequently, the possibility cannot be ruled out that the fuel pump no longer starts running when the vehicle is started. In rare cases, the possibility of the engine cutting out cannot be excluded.

The remedy

Customers should contact an authorised BMW motor vehicle service centre, or call the BMW group Australia Customer Interaction Centre on freecall:1 800 813 299.
