The defect

Front-wheel quick-release axles that are not in compliance with design specifications might be installed in some motorcycles.Due to irregularities in the manufacturing process, in isolated cases the quick-release axle might be of reduced wall thickness.Under these circumstances there is a possibility of severe loads on the front wheel (off-roading, for example) causing damage to the quick-release axle.Under worst-case conditions the quick release axle could break.
