The defect

The body mounting panels of the rear seat belt buckle anchorages used an incorrect grade of material. The rear seat belt anchorage performance may not fulfil the load requirements.

The hazard

The seat belt anchorages may not fulfil the load requirements if the rear centre seat is occupied at the same time as an outer seat. If an accident occurs, there is a risk that the rear seat belt buckle may become detached from the body structure and may cause injury.
